The series adopts a compact format, two monochrome finishes - black and brown -, a thin metal ring insert around the bezel, and above all a bio-based resin construction.

The gesture is significant for the brand: the G-Shock, born in 1983 under the leadership of engineer Kikuo Ibe (伊部 菊雄), has built its identity on massive resin and the "brick" look. The thin metal insert signals an assumed shift towards a more classic watchmaking interpretation - without letting go of the shock-resistant base.

The bio-based resin deserves a closer look. Casio does not highlight this on this single model by chance: the Japanese watchmaking industry (Casio, Citizen, Seiko) has been pushing for a few years materials derived from biomass (castor oil, plant derivatives) to replace part of the petrochemical polymer. On a compact "lifestyle" G-Shock, the ecological message complements the stylistic message - visible before even looking at the dial.

It remains to be seen on the wrist the rendering of the metal ring on a resin bezel - Casio has rarely failed this type of exercise, but the visual balance is delicate.
