Japan ends the Cool Japan Fund: the failure of a 52 billion yen cultural diplomacy
The Japanese government has announced the dissolution of the Cool Japan Fund, its investment fund dedicated to exporting Japanese pop culture. Established in 2013, the program never met its objectives despite the commitment of tens of billions of yen.
